She makes a pot of coffee and I get dressed then I help her carry a couple more of her off the wall mugs. It’s nice not to have to worry about sugar and what kind of creamer or milk or half and half the girl likes or not coffee at all. She lays an oven mitt which has Ouija board down on her black sleek coffee table. I pour the coffees and we both sit on her sofa. There are a million things I would like to ask her, but I’m too afraid of making it too much and causing her to throw her defenses back up. I feel like I have taken a brick or two down from her wall. I know I have to start small.

“So, I looked at that stack of paintings you told me I could.” I confess.

She raises her eyebrows as she takes a sip from her steaming cup. “You did, did you? Did you find anything that suits your fancy?”

“There were a few that I really liked and would love to take off your hands to put in the winery.”

She nods her head, “Make me an offer on each that you think is fair and they are yours. One condition.” She wants to bargain, but not on price, I am most certainly intrigued.

“Proceed,” I tell her.

She turns her body to face mine and I can’t believe that she is still in that sexy little silky robe. “That, if I ever visit I get free drinks.”

I nod, “Agreed.”

“Wait, you’ll do other drinks than wine right?” She asks leery.

“Well I am opening a winery. We will have wine and food, but mostly wine for drinks…” I hope this doesn’t dissuade her.

She makes a grossed out face, scrunches her nose and shakes her head, “Not really a wine drinker, I’m more of a tequila and rum kind of girl.”

I can’t help but find the humor in the situation. Usually it’s the woman into wine and the man drinks the hard stuff. I laugh and shake my head, “Well, maybe my wine will change your mind.”

“I just find it dry and fun-less.”

“The wine or the people who drink it?”

She stops to think for a moment, “Both.”

“Oh gee thanks!” I laugh, “Not everyone who likes wine or makes it are stuffy.”

“Yeah well, I’ve never tasted one I liked before,” She tells me. Her eyes shift and she licks her lips as she looks me up and down. I can feel myself start to stiffen in my pants and I am really wishing I never got fully dressed. I wish I could figure her out more than anything.

“When Ashes is open you’ll have to be my special guest and you’ll be treated to a full…tasting,” My mouth go dry at the thought of tasting her all over.

She tops off her mug and mine, “So, you are so eager to know about my sexual history and my conquests…what about you Mr… Coal was it?” She runs her finger along the rim of her mug.
